Packaging

Packaging

This is more or less the final phase of production of a bottle and the assembly of its various components: the bottle, juice, the pump, the cap, any labelling, secondary packaging (normally a cardboard case) and shrinkwrapping, then placement in American boxes labelled with their batch no. for traceability.

This procedure can be carried out by fully-automated or semi-automated processes.

It’s at this point that the bottle is united with its contents, with a few preliminary stages. The juice, its concentrate having undergone a 3-week maturing phase, will then be mixed with the alcohol, before going through a maceration phase. The perfume ratio will determine the product’s final name.

A mix of 3% perfume and a water-alcohol base will produce an Eau de Cologne. An Eau de Toilette is a solution containing up to 10% perfume mixed with alcohol. At 10 to 15% perfume, it will become an Eau de Parfum, while a perfume concentrate of between 15% and 30% is simply labelled as a Parfum, or even ‘Extract’ or ‘Essence’.
